The game crashes when I change my keybinds
FixLikely cause: A control-remapping crash in earlier 2.0 builds.
What to do: Update to 2.0.2. This is the exact bug the patch fixes.
Get the game
The game is free and the only official build is the developer's Game Jolt page. This page covers the install order, how to confirm you are on 2.0.2, and the crashes people actually hit.
Verified against v2.0.2
Download it from gamejolt.com/games/frickbears3/930477. Extract the archive to a normal folder, run the executable, and allow it through SmartScreen. Confirm the version reads 2.0.2 in the menu.
There is no official browser version, no mobile port and no paid edition. Any site offering an “unlocked” or “all endings” build is redistributing someone else's work.
Five Nights at Frickbear's 3 + Four Layers Down is published by SpookyRick on Game Jolt. The same page hosts the current release and an archived 1.1.4 base-game build kept for historical runs and max-mode play.
This site does not mirror the files. That is deliberate: a mirror goes stale within days of a hotfix, and a stale 2.0 build is exactly the one with the control-remap crash.

Open the menu and check the build number. If it shows an earlier 2.0 revision, re-download from Game Jolt rather than from a reupload. The 2.0.2 patch is the difference between a working control-remap screen and a crash.
GameMaker Studio titles on Windows typically write save data to a folder under %LOCALAPPDATA% rather than next to the executable. Open File Explorer, paste %LOCALAPPDATA% into the address bar, and look for a folder matching the game's name.
%LOCALAPPDATA% by date modified immediately after a play session. The folder that just changed is the one.Likely cause: A control-remapping crash in earlier 2.0 builds.
What to do: Update to 2.0.2. This is the exact bug the patch fixes.
Likely cause: Keyboard-controlled minigames capturing mouse input.
What to do: Update to 2.0.2. If it persists, run the game in windowed mode and avoid alt-tabbing mid-minigame.
Likely cause: Usually a GPU or fullscreen-mode issue with GameMaker builds.
What to do: Delete or rename the game's local settings file so it launches in the default windowed mode, then set fullscreen from inside the game.
Likely cause: Unsigned executables from small developers trip heuristic detection.
What to do: Download only from Game Jolt, restore the file, and add the extracted folder to your exclusions. Never disable real-time protection globally.
Likely cause: Saves live outside the game folder, so replacing the folder does not move them; a changed save path does.
What to do: Restore from the backup you took before updating. This is why the mods page insists on copying the save folder first.
Likely cause: Downmixed or muted output, or a headset profile that drops positional audio.
What to do: Use stereo headphones with spatial audio off. Several animatronics, including Ballora, are audio-only threats.
